The best wedding photography posing is natural looking. You want the couple to be, and to look like, themselves. In order to achieve that natural look, YOU need to be prepared. I've photographed enough weddings to be able to 'see' the album in my head and I'm constantly looking for the holes - the shots I'm missing. But in the early years, when the bride would turn to me and say, "What do you want us to do?" and I would momentarily blank. What next? How else can I pose them? I encourage you to have a shot or posing list. These can be found in detail on-line. Review and try to memorize this shot list but also have a hard copy with you, in your camera bag to refer to.
There is one way, nonetheless, to add style and color to your wedding event, and to cause it to be stand out from the bunch, and it is a pattern that is becoming ever more popular all over the world as persons latch upon how successful it is ?your Tiffany Blue Wedding.
- Check portfolio and equipment. The photographer you're talking to might say he is the best thing that ever happened to you but shoots with a crappy 1970's Polaroid. Visit the guy's website and see if you like his line of work, his touch and vision and then see if you should start making business together.
4. You may have to put money aside a little at a time in order to pull this off without suspicion. Incidentally, make sure the surprise really is something you and he can afford, or that will take away from the joy of the gift.
